Motor Controller The EV parts for the Prospector have come. We now have everything except for the batteries. We were purposefully waiting on those until last, so that they are not just sitting arround draining themselves. |

The purpose of JaB EV is to create electric vehicles. Electric cars can be converted from regular gasoline cars by removing the engine, radiator, exhaust, gas tank, sensor wiring, etc..., and adding an electric motor, battery pack and controller. Making a car electric, greatly reduces the mechanical and even the electrical complexity. It is also a very economical process, costing less than you might think. Also, running on electricity costs about a third of gasoline. This is because the efficiency of an electric motor is about three times better than a gasoline engine. We hope to be able to offer a selection of options with costs between $5,000 and $10,000. Honestly, you can spend as much as you want depending on how far you want to go between charges and how fast you want the vehicle to be. |

The Prospecter has lost it's ICE (internal combustion engine). The motor was blown and is little more than scrap metal at the moment. It did provide help in creating the adapter plate for the electric motor. As well as the engine, we removed the exhaust system and gas tank. We then spent an afternoon and evening scrubbing both the engine compartment and passenger compartment.

The Prospector EV is our first conversion. We purchased this 1987 Subaru for $250, blown head gasket included. We call it "The Prospector" because we bought it from a man who spent his spare time in the mountains panning for gold. This Subaru served him well, and will serve us as our ginnie pig. |
